I take more than just pretty pictures.
Renata is a tireless advocate for women. While Director of the Governor Strickland’s Office for Women’s Initiatives & Outreach, Renata was out front promoting public policy that would benefit & empower women. She facilitated women-centric and results-oriented conversations & partnerships around issues like health, policy, economic development and education as it relates to women and families. At the same time, Renata remained very engaged with the programs and advocacy of the YWCA Columbus where she graduated from the Gen Y program and where we first met. Through the YWCA, she could balance her policy work with hands-on service to women, gaining an even deeper understanding of the needs of women in our community and beyond. I think Renata was born a women’s advocate, but a true, confident & passionate leader was born during these years in the Governor’s office. I’ve always been impressed with Renata’s drive, leadership & organizational skills, deliberate actions and the sincerity & integrity with which she approaches everything. But never as much as when she was in law school. Still, in the midst of a rigorous study load and working, Renata continued her advocacy for women. With a busy schedule, she maintained connections. She continued to study women’s issues, human rights and community issues and she shared — and continues to share — her knowledge. She has her pulse on current topics, knows how to distill issues to match her audience, and she never seems to tire. :) I’m proud of Renata. She steps up. She uses her voice. And it makes a difference.
Renata is one of those rare professionals who is truly passionate about what she does, and she weaves this passion into all aspects of her life. In the time that I have known Renata, she has not only shown herself to be a wealth of knowledge on women’s issues on both the state and federal level; she is always involved in positive community and local initiatives. Renata is intelligent, creative, compassionate, and driven and her education and experience will make her an asset to any organization.
As First Lady of Ohio, I worked with Renata on behalf of women’s issues. She is a thoughtful and creative leader with a tremendous work ethic. The women and girls of Ohio were fortunate that she was willing to use her many talents to advocate for them.
I first had the opportunity to work with Renata Ramsini when she was a Legislative Service Commission Fellow serving in the office of State Senator Tom Roberts. As a fellow, I found that Ms. Ramsini possessed many talents I value such as strong written and oral communication skills and an intellectual curiosity that allowed her to quickly comprehend and analyze complex matters of public policy that impacted state policy decisions. I believe these skills were widely recognized, which afforded her the opportunity to take a position as a Legislative Aide at the Ohio Secretary of State’s office. When I had an opportunity to hire a Legislative Liaison at the Ohio Department of Taxation, I was deeply interested in bringing Ms. Ramsini onto my team. Fortunately, she expressed an interest and other officials at the Department, including Ohio Tax Commissioner Richard Levin were equally impressed with her experience and talents. While a liaison, Ms. Ramsini demonstrated the ability to provide analysis of issues impacting state tax policy and public finance while developing advocacy strategies to advance the policy interests of the Department. Ms. Ramsini approached her duties in a bipartisan, pragmatic method that forged important relationships for the Department and gained the notice of officials in Governor Ted Strickland’s office. I was very pleased to watch her continually grow in her role as a liaison, which prepared her to successfully transition into critical roles within the governor’s office.Without reservation, I would hire Renata Ramsini again if given the opportunity. No matter the position, Ms. Ramsini has demonstrated the ability to provide insightful analysis on a multitude of policy areas including election law and procedures, tax policy and public finance, public safety and criminal justice. Furthermore, I believe that Ms. Ramsini would be a key asset as a leader, team member, and trusted adviser to any organization interested in fulfilling its mission while maintaining values of fidelity, clarity and integrity.
Renata is deeply engaged in the community. She has taken a role in advocating for causes that support the advancement of women and girls. Renata is professional, polished, thoughtful, engaged and motivated! She is also both strategic and detail oriented. She is well thought of in our central Ohio community and she works to connect those who are interested in topics related to women and girls. It is a pleasure to know and to work with Renata!
